King John’s Castle
Benefitting from a recent multi-million euro investment, King John’s Castle offers visitors a unique opportunity to learn about over 800 years of dramatic local history. Its 3D models and touchscreen technology bring to life tales of siege and warfare. Step outside to see the busy courtyard’s medieval tent, blacksmith forge and scenes from a 17th-century siege.
Learn about the history of Limerick and its people at the Jim Kemmy Municipal Museum. Displays include archaeological and military artefacts, Limerick silver and lace, and local printing. The museum itself is rich in history, founded in 1906 and opening to the public in 1916.
