Day 1

Bunratty Castle

Take a Trip to Bunratty, located 10 minutes from the hotel and visit Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Ireland’s iconic Bunratty Castle is a must on your itinerary to Ireland.  Named after the river Raite which runs alongside this strategic battlement.  The spot on which this castle stands has been occupied for over 1000 years. From the Vikings to the Normans, great Irish Earls and noble Lords and Ladies. Graciously restored in the 1960’s and furnished by Lord Gort’s magnificent collection of medieval furniture and furnishings, this is your chance to experience a window on Ireland’s past and explore the acclaimed 15th century Bunratty Castle.

Afternoon & Lunch

Cratloe Woods Walk & Take a Packed Picnic from the Hotel

Cratloe Wood Car Park and Picnic Site is located adjacent to Cratloe village and on the western side Cratloe Forest property which is over 700 Hectares in extent. It overlooks the Estuary of the river Shannon which is the longest river in Ireland and Great Britain. The Galtee Mountains in Co. Tipperary can be seen to the east, the Ballyhoura Mountains in North Cork to the south and Shannon Airport to the west.
There is an extensive road network throughout the the wood suitable for walking. 

After Lunch


From Cratloe  you will be in Craggaunowen in less than 20 minutes. Ireland’s original award winning Pre-historic Park. Come and explore the roots of the people, homesteads, animals and artifacts of our Celtic ancestors of over 1,000 years ago which have touched and shaped how we live today. 

Day 2


Limerick City Kayaking Tours

In the morning, take a kayaking tour on Ireland’s longest river while taking in many of the city’s landmarks, vibrant history and folklore.. You can have some real Adventure or simply relax and enjoy the local wild life, as the River Shannon is a nature-lovers paradise with abundant wildlife and amazing things to see.

You can always rely on Limerick’s Milk Market, to satisfy your hunger! Stuffed with dozens of food stalls & vintage stores there’s something for everyone! Get a bite of Limerick all Weekend long with:

Friday lunch specials – cafe culture & live music 12.30-2pm 

Saturday:  our famous farmer’s market 

Sunday: Family Relaxation Day -coffee, cheese, crêpes, chocolates, occasional crafts – and yoga! 


Limerick Cycling Tours

See the landmarks of Limerick while cycling around the city. Limerick Cycling Tours are a fun and easy paced way to explore Limerick City. As you pedal through the city streets, feast your eyes on the many historical and iconic attractions including St. Mary’s Cathedral, the Hunt Museum, The Treaty Stone and, of course, the mighty King John’s Castle
