3 Day Itinerary For Families

Day 1

Morning

Begin your 3 Day adventure to Limerick, by starting off exploring the hotel grounds. With a children’s outdoor play area, basketball and tennis courts, magical fairy garden, walking trail and swimming pool- there is so much to do on site to keep the kids entertained for hours!

 

Early Afternoon

Kids and adults alike will love observing and learning at Stonehall Visitor Farm. Animals range from alpaca, llama, emu and ostrich to rabbits, goats and chipmunks. Once inside, you’ll also discover an indoor play area featuring bouncy castles and a ball pit, as well as a nature trail highlighting many wild flowers, native trees and fauna. Top tip: bring some delicious homemade savory and sweet snacks from the Coffee Dock at the Radisson Hotel, before you take off on your adventure in the morning and enjoy a picnic at the farm!

Late Afternoon

Less than a 5-minute drive from Stonehall Visitor Farm, lies the beautiful Curraghchase Forest Park. Bring the bikes and walking shoes with you, as this park is a great day out for all the family. It has a children’s playground and plenty of walks to suit all abilities.

Evening

Did anyone say dinosaurs? Living up the evening with some family fun at Jurassic Parr Mini-Golf, which is Ireland’s first and only UV Crazy Golf Course! They have given Golf a crazy twist, creating a unique and fun activity for everyone. Their fun, challenging course features Apex Predators, like the Tyrannosaurus Rex, gentle giants like the mighty stegosaurus, over 18 glow in the dark holes!

It’s perfect for all year-round fun, no matter the weather!

Day 2

Morning

Take a Trip to Bunratty, located 10 minutes from the hotel and visit Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Ireland’s iconic Bunratty Castle is a must on your visit to Limerick.  You can explore and learn about Irish History within traditional homes and a small village. The kids will love the animals, don’t miss the Irish Wolfhounds and Connemara ponies and a terrific playground. Whatever the weather – indoors and outdoors, there’s lots of fun to be had at Bunratty Castle. Top Tip: Be sure to climb to the battlements for terrific views of the Shannon Estuary!

 

Early Afternoon

Cratloe Wood Car Park and Picnic Site is located adjacent to Cratloe village and on the western side Cratloe Forest property which is over 700 Hectares in extent. It overlooks the Estuary of the River Shannon which is the longest river in Ireland and Great Britain. The Galtee Mountains in Co. Tipperary can be seen to the east, the Ballyhoura Mountains in North Cork to the south and Shannon Airport to the west.

 

Late Afternoon

From Cratloe you will be in Craggaunowen in less than 20 minutes. Ireland’s original award winning Pre-historic Park. Step back in history and explore the roots of the people, homesteads, animals and artifacts of our Celtic ancestors of over 1,000 years ago which have touched and shaped how we live today.

 

 

Evening

Relax and recharge in the hotel with dinner in The Brasserie, where our award-winning Executive Chef, Gerard Costelloe and his team will keep you well fed with all the flavours of the south west.

Day 3

Morning

Keeping the little ones engaged and entertained is always important during a family break. The Global Explorers Kids Club offers your kids an impressive selection of fully-supervised seasonal indoor and outdoor activities ranging from pony trekking, meet the animals, track and trail, water zorbing, hover-ball archery, arts and crafts, giant Jenga, pizza-making and even a film club. Best of all, while they’re making some new friends, mum and dad can relax and unwind with a well-deserved treatment in Rain Spa or wandering through the grounds of our 800m walking, there’s plenty to do while they play.

 

Early Afternoon

Less than a 10-minute drive from the hotel, you can follow in the footsteps of your Munster heroes, by taking a look behind the scenes at the historic Thomond Park Stadium. From a walk down the tunnel, to a seat in the home dressing room, the stadium tour gives you the unique opportunity to experience how the Munster players feel on big match days.

 

Late Afternoon

Before you take off on your next adventure, grab some lunch in one of Limerick Cities many Cafes and Restaurants such as, Spitjack, COQBULL or Cornstone to name a few! Afterwards, do something fun and adventurous on the River Shannon; such as stand-up paddle boarding, Kayaking or raft building!

Evening

For your final night in Limerick, we recommend that you hit up FunWorld, where all the family can enjoy some bowling, pool, snooker and arcade games. It’s only 10 minutes from the hotel and situated next to Hungry Lyons Family Restaurant.
